Default Are you happy with your Max Rev kit?

I was all set and determined to buy the max rev kit, since it seemed it offered the best of what I wanted. However after seeting this thread:

https://honda-tech.com/zeropost?cmd=reply&id=2062025

I've begun to think twice. I didn't know there were complaints about the intercooler and the manifold.

So for those of you guys who do have the max rev kit, would you do it again?

I've got the log style manifold. I can't really complain about it since it has some very nice welds and a thick flange.

I think I was a little too harsh. It's just that a turbo guy told me these things and that's what I heard.

but I think it's fine for a beginner kit. Maybe I'm expecting too much. Maybe everybody is. I just need to sit down and think things over.

Take your time with this, don't rush into it. Also good to have a person that knows turbo's well to help you. Look around and you can do it yourself and maybe even better.

Good luck.

I have one of the first if not the first H series kit. The manifold, dp, and intercooler is fine. I just had some issues with the IC piping. I really think the piping should be done for the kit and not have the customer take it to a shop to have the piping done. It cost me a lot more than I expected to have the IC piping welded routed. Also a bov with the kit would be nice.

javier, i'm looking for the h23a1 application..Any estimation on when it will be done and the price? Also, I have heard there may be a problem with making a dump tube due to the placement of the wastegate..Is there a problem with that or can it be done by a professional shop and just too hard for the DIY..I'm concerned that venting the wastegate in the engine bay will yeild way too much damaging heat..Especially if it's venting close to my alternator..Also because I don't want the engine bay to look like the inside of a chimney..thanks

Yeah the maxrev is a good basic kit. Its a kit designed for those who want to get better parts then what other kits offer. It allowed me to keep my ac- with little block notching.

plus they have great customer service.
