Default Yet another question thats been asked a thousand times... GSR & Boost??

okay okay,

I tried the search button but didn't really find a clear answer.. I might be gettting a stock gsr motor/trans soon to replace my turbo LS motor/trans.. My question is, whats the suggested and safe boost level that I can run on the stock gsr motor b4 i have to worry about rebuilding the internals?? I dont plan on doing that until maybe next yr..

thanks in advance...

yep. You can boost 3 psi and have the motor blow on you or you can run a tuned setup at 8 psi and be fine. depends on the setup, how well you take care of everything, and how good your fuel delivery is. if it's crap or non-existant, don't expect anything to last too long.

B-series block can handle up to 10 psi with good fuel management like EMS or hondata (no tweak boxes)

If you prep the block right, you can push 400whp+ on race gas. I ran a b16a head, gsr bottom end, arp head studs, cometic thicker headgasket (9:1 comp) and a race engineering block guard. On pump I ran 14lbs everyday, on race gas I was pushing 19lbs. This was on a 60-1 t3. All stock internals. It can be done. It helps when you can tune yourself, but if you have a good tuner anything is possible.
