Would you guys jump on this opportunity?
Assuming both setups will be turbocharged, running hondata on stock bottom ends:
I currently have a completely stock b18b and trans waiting to go back into my 93 hatch. However, I know someone who might be interested in trading me straight up for his b20 block, b16a1 cylinder head, type r intake manifold, with a 99 si trans. Now I know the obvious answer as to which will make more power, however, I dont favor the rpms that the block will be seeing. I did a search on the compression ratio of the b20/b16a combo but got no results. I like the cr of the ls for boost. Must the combustion chamber of the b16a head be machined to match the bores of the b20 block for optimum performance? The main thing about this setup is I want to keep it safe and reliable. If you guys could shed some light on some of these questions, it would help me make an educated decision. TIA

Re: Would you guys jump on this opportunity? (turboeg)
if you are worried about the RPMs on the B20vtec....just dont rev it high.
yes the combusion chamber on the B16 head should definately be changed to fit the bore of the B20 block.
considering the motor has a good leakdown test, I would do the trade without thinking.
