Default Is it worth [the risk] to run a gutted cat?

i dunno about other places but here in cali if i get caught i have to pay a $1,000 fine. performance-wise are the gains noticable? quicker spools and more hp right?

yes, quicker spools, and you'll notice more significant power...

is it worth it ? one of my friend just got pulled over and the CHP notice one of his lines was rig (LS/Vtec turbo), and he was orderd to do SMOG again, and had to pull his motor out and drop his stock DX long block back in...and get smog done...

so is it worth it ? YES..... hehehehehe

city cops prolly won;t know that much, but CHP know what they need to lok for...

i've always run with a gutted cat in the past...this year i've decided to use a 3inch high flow...can't risk getting pulled over anymore.

besides...i don't care for street races anymore...track only

same here... i dont go out looking for races. the risks outweigh everything else now. i guess i'll just save up for a nice 2.5" high-flow cat.

keep in mind.. a gutted cat looks stock as well as a high flow cat.

I'm running a test pipe. Although, I have a Flex pipe that looks like a "Cat Convertor".

But if you get busted, fines are $3k.
