WOOHOO! just finished my turbo kit
Woohoo, just finished my turbo kit and I think I'm pretty happy with it. For the past 3 hours I've been tuning my Hondata but it's getting pretty close to how I want it to be. I wish I had sprung for the real time stuff now but oh well, burning the chips every single time isnt to bad. Now all I have left to do is finish the outside of the car and I'll actually be able to drive it. hehe

Re: WOOHOO! just finished my turbo kit (HybridKOOP)
The manifold is a product of my friend, we were going to make a jig off of it but decided its not worth the time. We might be having a pseudo group buy on NON A/C B-series manifolds shortly. We are still trying to figure out exactly what we want to do Price would probably be around $275 or so, stainless would probably be available for maybe $100 more. But that will not be for a little while.

Re: WOOHOO! just finished my turbo kit (lucas569)
me = not scared of tow hooks. I should probably find another spot. hehe, I dunno I've always used those tow hooks to hold up the car. When I do motor swaps I usually put them somewhere on the frame though just because the hoist wont fit if they are under the tow hooks. The intercooler is actually not to huge. I think the picture might distort it a bit. It's a 20x10x2.75 Griffin core that I picked up for $265. The turbo is actually something kind of weird. Its a T3/To4b. The exhaust side is a stage 3 wheel inside of a .63 exhaust. The compressor side is a To4b35 trim inside of a 60a/r B housing (smaller then E housings). I recently met a guy down here in San Diego that makes and sells turbos to most of the "performance" shops around here. I told him how I wanted my turbo to respond and he swore up and down on this weird compressor wheel and housing. He said the wheel is actually off of some tractor turbo or something. The wheel itself is pretty large, its about the size of a 60-1 wheel. Anyway, I'm glad I listened to him cuz I'm pretty happy with the response of this turbo. When I was messing the hondata last night I was doing 4th gear pulls starting at about 2800 rpm and I was getting full boost by about 3500 or so. I'll try to get more info on the turbo, it's pretty gnarly.

What did you paint? the manifold and IC pipes with? Coated with something? I'm powdercoating my IC pipes, but I have no idea what to do with the manifold short of ceramic coating it, because all the paint I've seen just boils off......even the high temp stuff.....
Thanks!

Re: WOOHOO! just finished my turbo kit (mlambrecht)
The intercooler piping was painted with Rust-oleum "textured" black paint from Home Depot. I have decided that from now on this will be the paint that I"m going to use on all my intercooler piping. It gives it that factory look similar to the valve cover. The manifold was just painted with the high temp paint, I took the picture before the car was even started for the first time. Right now its got that dull gray look to it. I originally planned to ceramic coat the manifold but I ran out of time. School has started and I dont really have time to take it off. I do have lots more pics of the car from beginning to end. However, I want to finish this front lip before I post pics of the car.

hmm, the radiator says Showa on it, that's about it. When I bought my red car I noticed it had the metal radiator in it so I snagged it before I traded that car away. I always had problems with the plastic end cap radiators cracking from the heat.

Re: WOOHOO! just finished my turbo kit (Etylorcen)
probably the next event. I still have some cleaning up on the car to do and some more little things that just need to be finished off. I'll probably also be doing a little more tuning with the Hondata, I've almost got the A/F ratio steady throughout the powerband. It would be so much faster if I could tune this thing on the fly but I was cheap and didnt get the 4b.

i live kind of in the north county area, I'd rather not disclose my location on the board. Judging from your name you're probably at least half an hour south of me though.
