Wiseco headgasket requirement/ 81.25 pistons
Ok im in the plans of forging my B16.
I was watching the wiseco catalogue and i saw this:
Now my head/block has been milled for about 0.025-0.030.
My questions are
1) Do wisecos have smaller valve ports?I wont be using bigger from ITR cams.Probably only GSRs. Oem HG has a thickness of 0.025 and i like
to stay with oem HG for all setups. So whats the deal here.
2) "81.25mm pistons-stock sleeves theory" Do you guys think that extra 0.25 mm sleeve is actually stronger or is it just on my mind?
I was watching my feeler gauge and that 0.25mm is not that thin at all. Its like 0.125mm on each side i know but still im thinking its a free bonus to save the stock sleeve.
On the other hand a mechanic friend of mine told be that 81.25mm pistons should be ordered AFTER the block is inspected...I wont hit more than 400 to the tyre anytime soon.BUT
ill have to use quite a lot of boost on my TD05HR-152G6(ill get billet comp wheel)
But best fuel i can is like 92-93 octane here. No e85.
What do you guys think.

Think that chart is referring to calculating the based on gasket size. I ran wiseco with milled head and block and oem gasket, to be safe your supposed to clay the block i never did that tho it was fine.
yea any sleeve removal makes it weaker, still best to rebore for a perfect round cylinder.I was running 81.5 it was fine until I cracked a sleeve at 430 hp. I would say try to stay closer to 350 to be safe, but it all depends some people get away with higher hp on oem sleeves just depends on how willing you are to risk it

Cp pistons have deeper pockets?

Yes I was talking to the wheels. I would say 400 crank is still pretty safe. Lots of people have gone much higher without issues. But once you go above that point there is risk for sure, remember that's more then double the amount of power that came from the factory
