wiring turboxs dsbc
im trying to hookup my boost controller... but the instructions look like this
http://turboxs.com/_images/DSBC%20ass.jpg
but my switch looks like this
http://store3.yimg.com/I/ntnsracing_1782_12425413
so how do i wire it up with only 2 prongs on the switch? 1 to boost controller and 1 to 12v ignition source? i tried it that way and the wires started melting... doh

ok, i went to autozone and bought a switch that has 3 prongs, (12v source, ground, acc)
for the 12v source i used 18gauge wire and connected to the fuse underdash.
ground connected to a ground using 18 guage wire
acc wired to the boost controller. (has really thin wire, maybe 20 or 22 gauge? not sure)
but i keep popping the fuse the power wire is connected to... wtf is going on? any electricians out there?

Re: (jazz215)
test the contacts on the switch with an ohmmeter..
the switch with the 3 prongs on the diagram is one that normally contains a light/led to indicate if switch is on or not.. u may have bought a cross over switch whith no light.. middle pin has continuity with either the left or right pin depending on switch position. middle pin is normally common. try swapping the 12v and signal wire, if still blows, remove earth wire and just use the 2 wires..
u can still use the old 2 pin switch.. 12v and signal wire.. if still having probs, take it to an auto electrician. i prolly just confused the F**k out of ya

Re: (pnkpig)
thanks, i found out the first switch melted the all the rubber off the wire and was making contact with the chasis. I replaced the wire and all is good now.... im still using the new 3 prong switch i bought... also the light just blew on the switch... doh. but the boost controller is now working.
