Default will a open wastegate cause a turbo to overspool ???

hello everybody....

iv been told that if ill run with a open wastegate the turbo will probably overspool, is it correct?

if anything, it would underspool

open wastegate will be alot effective than routing it back in the downpipe, well that was the case for RX-7s when i worked on them.

leave it open should not hurt anything, besides heat up the engine bay more.

Just make sure it's not pointing at anything plastic or rubber under your hood.

A dump-tube would help to keep heat, and suit out of your engine bay though. . . and they're not expensive.
