Will LEADED gas do me any good (Seriously) ?
I will be living in a place where leaded gas is an option at the pump. I am running a solid pipe from DP to muffler, so no cat to clog. Leaded is 95 octane great for a boosted car. BUT unleaded is also available (can't remember which is cheaper) However, Unleaded is also 95 Octane, so no loss there.
Would running leaded gas give me any advantages ? Say, it may increase engine life or keep the engine cleaner...something ?
I would also be concerned about the O2 sensor, if it will operate properly seeing leaded gas in daily driving...

Your sure there the same Oct rating? If so then the leaded gas will not help. Generally leaded gas has a higher octane rating....
Your O2 sensor will be OK for awhile but the lead will build in time and you will have to buy another sensor. I have been told most o2 sensors will last 5 hours running time with leaded race gas..

Belive me no gain, here in venezuela we have 95 octanes unleaded and 91 octane leaded, although we use to have 95 leaded, i had my best results with unleaded fuel, i woundt go for the troubles withthe o2 sensors trying out the gas, cuz belive me no diference (not dyno proved )

Now just gotta find a tuner down there that is worth a damn.... 95 oct would be beastly for some advance....

Yup, we have only 1 dyno down here, and in caracas, people who live in other cities have to come over here just to get tuned, and its ******* expensive, since its the only shop that has a dyno they charge what ever they want...just out of curiosity how much would a hondata and the dyno tuning cost over there?
But 95 unleaded gas is only $0.04 per litre

A hondata is 295.00 here
and tuning at almost any shop would start at around 150.00/hr w/ them tuning or 100.00 if you tune yourself...
I have a local shop that does 80/hr if you tune yourself w/ wideband..
Anthony, where are you moving.
Regarding the topic: Honda's were designed to run on unleaded gas, hence they don't need the extra lubrication of leaded gas. And the lead itself doesn't do much for performance. It's more about the octane rating.
I use 100octane leaded, b/c it's the only high octane available in SoFla for a reasonable price. I've used for over 6 months on the same honda 02 sensor with no problems at all... plus no pinggggg! damn high compression motors.

**** here we cant find hondata, only unichip ==> $ 500 dyno tuning included
So you can see, we have cheap gas but the rest is really expensive

Albert, moving to Trinidad, which coincidentally is right next to Venezuela...(sup Blind...lol) But taking the hatch.... (unfortunately, not taking the gsr... )
I would like to get my car hondata'd and tuned, but on the 95 oct.... but that's a WHOLE other problem.....
BTW, hondata here in S.FL USA, can cost as much as $1000 tuned and 'installed' for turbo and $700 for N/A. Hondata itself is $295 n/a, $495 boost + sales tax (6-8% by state).
