Which Wideband to Purchase LM-1 or PLX m-300??
I have gone thru searching what popular opinion thinks about these o2 sensors. But what would you reccomend?
The results from searching were not very biased, many people were firm believers in both units.
My observations:
LM-1: SEMA award
No laptop needed for datalogging
acccuracy issues
higher price
overall ergonomics
RPM sensor is a decent bit more money
PLX M-300: Tried and true consisitent results
mountable display
Simplicity
No datalogging
No real extra features
I will be running this in an uberdata run car, so i am open to suggestions. Please let me know what you think as i will be purchasing in the next couple days....
Closing arguements:
Is there any benefit to spend the extra money on the LM-1?
Does anyone have personal experience on which one is a better unit??

Re: (mike93boost)
here's how i see it..
i like the datalogging ability of the lm1
i like the compact size of the m300 interface
they both use the same lsu4 sensor.
with that being said, ive been using an lm1 on 3 cars for about 2-3 years now. i would like to pick up the m300 though and get rid of the lm1. that way i can just put the interface right on the top of my steering column in front of my cluster so i can see it easy

Re: (blackeg)
have you still been using the same o2 sensor? does it still function the same over the three years that you have had it?
I am really torn between these two units, and can't decide

I like my M300.
You can datalog with it, just not directly through the device. If you plan on tuning you're going to need to get either a phone cable or the datalogging cable from moates.net and run a program like turboedit to get any real tuning done.

haha no ive had a handful of sensors. they have gone bad from 1) my car burning too much oil and messing it up, 2) my bung being too close to my turbo and messing it up, 3) stripping the threads using it on a friends car. i do however know people who have put 10k or so on a sensor

Re: (Everyones Hero)
right, i am currently running uberdata on my p28, it has its own datalogging capabilities. So really i dont "need" the capabilities that the lm-1 has to offer. (i think)
Does anyone use the LC-1? if so how do you like it?

don't be like me and have the plx in any direct form of sunlight or the segments on the display will all burn out. PLX customer support blows, there's only a 90 day warranty on it when the demo video they have shows the unit sitting on the dash of the s2000 w/ the top down in direct sun. I HATE mine now cause i can't read it w/ all the burnt out led's. even when it was new if there was any ambient light i couldnt read the display. no one else had this problem, that's why i bought the unit. i'm kind of stuck now htough, guess only thing i can do is get that 52mm display that can hang out in the sun.

Re: (Superorb)
That's wierd. I know it does say to keep it from direct sunlight.
I thought the unit itself would expletive up, not the display. I wonder where they reccomend putting it. On the floor?

I have the zeitronix in my daily driver and really like it. It has everything built into one nice display unit and all you have to do it buy the egt probe and boost sensor for it to read those and also data log with them.
I run the FJO the car I race and like the added features of the zeitronix and the price compared to the FJO.

Re: (underpressure02)
thanks for all the comments guys.
right now i am pretty set on getting the plxm300, but the innovate LC-1 is significantly cheaper, and i dont necessarily need the display. (it would be nice, but not needed)...
Any feedback on the lc-1??

Re: (93supercoupe)
i have the plx and love it i made a guage pod like dome over it out of fiberglass so from the outside of the car it just looks like a guage pod. Keeps the sun off of it no problem, and its been working fine for 2 years

Re: Which Wideband to Purchase LM-1 or PLX m-300?? (Chronicsinners)
I like the display because while I'm driving around I can't be constantly looking at a laptop to see if I'm running too rich or lean, whereas with the PLX I can just look at my dash and it'll say rich/lean or all numbers in between.

Yeah, the PLX definitely sucks when it comes to screen visibility. The display totally washes when sun reflects off it.
