Why isnt my car boosting? Need help.
EDIT: FOUND THE PROBLEM
Ill leave my post up for future refernece for people. The problem ended up being the damn ghetto rigged filter we had going. We sandwiched too thick of cotton rab in between two metal screen filters, so the turbo couldnt pull enough air. When I took it out and ran just the screen, it boosted like crazy. for me, lol
ORIGINAL POST:
Recently I installed my customed fabbed kit into my 95 GSR. Everything seems to be running ok, a little white smoke/steam off the turbine housing when I first started out, possibly just oil and grime from our hands burning off. When I run my car, it seems to not boost at all.
It starts to spool, but then it seems to die out. It still boosts enough to make the BOV sound off a little, but not nearly 6-7 pounds. I checked all my IC piping, seems fine. Checked my vacuum hose, seems fine. Im pulling about 550-600 mm/hg of vacuum at idle. No oil in the IC piping.
I have not the slightest clue why. Can anyone give me some other ideas of what is wrong so I can check them?

You mean it is making a little less than 6 psi, or not even enough to register?
What sort of wastegate? Most internal wastegates are only intended for 5 PSI or so.

no exhaust leaks? is your wastegate stuck open? recheck your vacuum lines and make sure you don't have a line that has a hidden check valve in it or something silly like that.

Brand new exhaust mani gasket, freshly welded exhuaust. I dont think I have a hidden check valve, I dont know tho. I ran it right after the inake manfiold nipple off the FPR and the evap purge, so I assume it would be before a check valve hidden under the intake mani

Sounds like a malfuctioning wastegate or vac going to the wg. I had boosting problems w/ my internal wg.... turns out someone (previous owner) lengthened the actuator rod and the flapper was stuck partially open.

Re: (Hoodwinked)
Is the turbo in excellent shape i.e. shaft play. One other thing u can do is build a boost leak tester. To do this take a hose that wil fit on the end of the turbo and on the other end put some type of psi gauge and tighten them down with raiditor hose couplers so the air will not leak from there. you will need to have a spot to hook up a air compressor to pressurize the system using a tire air chuck. fill it til you read the desired psi about u plan on running and check for leaks. Otherwis good luck

i beleive the turbo is fine, I dont know for sure tho. no real shaft paly in it. I will check all the vacuum lines and IC pipes again, just to make sure, then I will check the wastegatre again
