why can't OBD IIb be chipped like obd I with uberdata and ****
Ok, i know how to program in machine code/asssm lang and i have all those different chip writers/burners etc, wh
what makes the OBDIIb ecu not able to modify the rom chips or any tables they have inside? is the algorithm different or maybe the hardware runs a different setup then obdi? so i guess honda doesn't use the MC6811 processor

check out http://www.pgmfi.org sounds like you can help the cause - From here

ODB1 ECU, but it works in a similar way. The ODB2 ECU's stores the program in the
processor (like the OKI 66507) like the ODB1 ECU. There is no place on the
board for a eprom. In this case we've to replace the processor with an
reprogrammed one instead of replacing or adding and EPROM.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Honda was in violation of the federal standards for OBD2 until recently... and still is with the majority of their cars.
OBD2 mandates a flashable platform; nothing except the RSX has such a thing, although 99-00 Si has the backbone for it (but is saddled with OTP processor). Anybody remember Jeff Matthews having a hacked 99 Si back in 00? Now you know how he did it.

all i know is if you can find a way to chip obd2 and obd2b ecus easily and relitivly cheaply and effectively,
you can make some money
and i have been wondering the same thing, im noticing that obd1 has a another slot for an eprom so burned chips can be added.
obd2 of course being different has no slot, so like said about you have to burn an entire new processor..
some guy sell this kit to do it....its an interesting idea but not sure about it, i am interested though

so what we have to do is replace the processor with a newly reprogrammed one, ... hmm, anyone have the spec sheet for the honda obd iib ecu and any schematic? I'm trying to find a job in a Honda development plant, even if i get in, i doubt i could find out their ecu schematics...
