why cant i feel VTEC with my turbo kit
I have a 96 JDM ITR 4 door very rare. I recently put a turbo sytem on it but I can't feel when the vtec ingages anymore does anyone know why and what i can do to fix this? I am still running stock internals but in the process of buying a short block from http://www.jgenginedynamics.co....html.
This is my set up for now
T3/T4 turbo
HKS SSQV
Missing Link
Eagle Vaccum Box
12:1 Blox FMU
JDM Intercoler Kit
38 mm Waste gate
Hondata S300 program and ECU plus injector and fuel pump on the way.

as long as it is still engaging, its fine, the fact that you cant feel it, means the x-over is set good, and there is not an abrupt jump.(if it is working)

Normally I'd say it's because your turbo bolsters the engine's power down low and starts running out of breath as it crosses into vtak, but with the FMU/Missing Link combo, it's probably because your engine is already screwed and has 2 digit compression figures.

Psychology of VTEC: The VTEC 'kick' really shouldnt be there if the engine is well tuned. Then the curve should be totally smooth. Interestingly, some people think the car with the VTEC 'kick' has more power when, in fact, it has less.

Re: (00-501itrspec)
I understand what your saying about the kick but my problem is not so much that but i do not hear it at 5700 RPM nor do i feel that extra rush when the Cam opens. Maybe my thinking is wrong but i thought with the turbo feeding the engine it would be the best of both worlds turbo down low and vtec up high.

i agree with that 100% but it is still pretty audible.
just a thought.

a good setup should be smooth..
and a good turbo should not run out of breath up top. It should be strong through the entire powerband
