why to buy an oil pressure gauge
Yesterday my oil light kicked on so naturally I pull over immediately and shut the car down. The oil level seems fine though so I'm slightly confused, then I realize that my oil pressure gauge was disconnected a few days ago and the stock sensor is screwed into that.
Which means, I drove my car for 250 miles with no oil pressure going to the sensor (disconnected feed line) before the oil pressure light kicked on.
That just goes to show how worthless the stock oil pressure sensor is.

Good luck man...if you had no oil pressure, Id be willing to bet you have a thrown rod or bearing in your near future.

if you had unplugged the stock sensor and then started the car up then you would still have no check oil light come on, only when the plug hits a ground will it turn on. the stock sensor works fine when it is plugged in, but when disconnected and not touching ground it wont throw a code, when it is grounded it will throw a code.

Yup...it's normal. Im pretty sure the SRS light stays on for a second or 2 also.
