this is an excellent filter. For those of you running high boost or planning to, be very selective with your air filter choice. Those cheap filters that come with the DRAG kits are not a great choice. Though they work fine on low boost apps, when you start really making some power, these cheapie filters can not only be a restriction, but can also come apart and destroy your turbo. I've seen it almost happen twice in the last two weeks, and 2 other times it did destroy the turbo on friends cars. The Apex filter will not give you such problems, and is an excellent flowing filter as well. Hell, I might even jump in on this group buy

Here is another test I found on the internet:
http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/fil...t/1/index.html
And, if you get the universal filter, you are going to have to rig up something like this guy did with his supra. Looks pretty easy, just want you guys to know it isn't a direct bolt on.

edit: fixed link.

what about fitment issue ? how wide are they in comparison with the K&N, I am just gonna use an 90 degrees elbow. I don;t feel like making a long extension going over the upper rad hose, since I have ABS unit there...

Re: Who want APEXi air filters? (Farnsrocket)
Universal opening is 3" Only one size is available. No oil needed. Looks like there is plenty of interest for these. I will order a bunch tomorrow, have them on Wednesday and get you all the dimensions you are asking about.
I don't think there will be a fitment issue. There is a lot of room to be used off to the passanger side.
I'll take the measurements and let you guys decide though.

Re: Who want APEXi air filters? (Tanner)
Anybody know where i can get one that will fit a 4" opening. I know K&N has one that's got a 4" opening and is nice and short, but i was going to see who else might make one like that. The intake side of my turbo is crammed enough as it is already, i don't think i have room to make an adapter and have a filter on without hitting something.

Re: Who want APEXi air filters? (boostaholic)
with the universal filter you will have to fabricate a "tube" on the back of it like the guy with the supra did. You could make it whatever size you like. I will get measurements for you guys wednesday.
