Who makes a functional non ricey hood scoop?
I have a top mount intercooler and Im thinking of getting a hood scoop for my car so I can get some airflow over the intercooler. I was thinking of getting a Subaru Hood Scoop but thought there may be some more out there. So does anyone know of a scoop that is functional and isnt all big and ricey looking? TIA

lol
step back and think what you are asking
hood scoop on a SENTRA that isnt ricey.
sorry man, i think you should just get a FMIC and be done with it.

Well if you want to give me the money to swap in a FMIC I would be happy to do it. I would just like to have something that would allow some cool air to pass over the intercooler.
And just because I asked about a hood scoop for my Sentra doesnt meen it is ricey.
I dont know but it might just be me but I dont think that the cowl hoods look that good on imports. Although I havent seen alot of imports with the cowl hood.

A lot of hood scoops can be made, or bought, then the factory hood can be cut around it. I think if you found some sort of small scoop, and mounted it, then carefully cut your hood around it, it'll look good. As long as it's not oversized, and functional, then I don't see it being ricey.

pre '90 300zx scoops arent bad, small and functional. they look decent on crx's as well. not too big and noticable.

Im thinking that the Subaru WRX Hood scoop would look the best and have the most effect on cooling the intercooler down.
Im not sure if I know what the naca scoops look like and I dont have a pic of Bisi's car anywhere around. Can someone post some pics of these naca scoops? TIA

A subaru scoop will cost you near the price of an FMIC and custom piping.
And the front mount has better cooling capacity as you pass more air into it.
Try to found a old rx-7 scoop they are not bad and way cheaper than the subaru unit.

Think 96+ viper. See the scoop on the front of the nose there? Triangle shaped getting deeper as you go. That's a naca scoop. Supposed to help promote airflow or something like that.

NACA scoop is FAR more superiour in getting the airflow and volume than a standard scoop. you can get them free at your local junk yard off a 280ZXT or 300ZXT

I have seen those scoops before the naca ones just didnt know that is what they were called. They look pretty good. I will probably go with one of those. And as far as front mounting the intercooler Im not gonna do that right now because I would like to for it to keep its sleeper look with no big front mount and plus I dont have the money for the front mount stuff.
Someone said that the Subaru Scoop would be as much as the front mount stuff. that is wrong I have found several Subaru scoops for about $50.00
