Re: who here runs a T3 super60 ?? (project dc2)
i was running one on my GSR. spool up was real quick, but it lacked power up top. it would pull the hardest in the mid RPMs, but fall flat on it's face at higher RPMs. HTH.

like he said, the super 60 fall on its *** on high end. 60-1 is KILLER high end. And of course, like im sure soomeone will say later, the sc61 will spank both turbos in power and spool time

yah, i was referring to this:
just straight T3 60trim with the wheel being "super" which doesnt change much since its just a T3.
A "super" wheel in the T04E family would have more of a change

That is true, to me the increase in price for the "super" 60 is not worth it because the "normal" 60 trim is nearly identical.

i wouldnt recommend this turbo to anyone with a DOHC. the turbo dies out too quickly for any kind of fun, although it does pick up from a roll quite fast. this turbo would be ideal for SOHC. for a DOHC, i feel its almost essential for a t3/t4 of some kind.
i also agree with what everyone else has said about this topic

I agree, on DOHC a hybrid turbo is a better choice IF you desire the power up top. For an auto-x application though it would be better to use a smaller turbo for better low-end response.

Do you guys feel that this would be a good turbo for a high reving built single cam? I'd like to touch 9000 rpms on my built motor, and still be making power obviously.

Re: (hatchback19)
No, it will fall off after around 7500rpms or so. I would go to a T3/T04E in a 50 or maybe 57 trim if you want to rev it that high. Although I would still stay with a .48 A/R Stage III turbine housing.

Re: (TurboSedan)
Why would you say the 48? I planned on going with a T3/T04E but have been looking at the differant trims trying to decide what would be best. My idea is to make power up top, since it's hard to put power to the ground with a FWD. I think 20 psi is going to be difficult not to burn up first gear on drag radials. If I can make power upto 9000 that'll help me out a lot I think.

Re: (hatchback19)
Yeah, I am sorry, you would be better off with the .63 A/R since you seem to not mind some lag. Guess I had that ".48 on a SOHC rule in my brain" haha.

Re: (TurboSedan)
Yea, the lag isn't something im too concerned with yet, 20psi is going to be tough to put to the ground in first and second anyways. Thanks a lot for your help... I'll have to start looking a little more intently.

Re: (hatchback19)
i'm not looking for an all out drag car, just something fun to drive daily and for auto-xing... so do you think a T3 60 trim would be appropriate? i probably would never boost over 7 or 8 lbs on it.

Re: who here runs a T3 super60 ?? (project dc2)
dont flame me if i get this wrong but i think our motors flow a lot more air then DSMs. therefore we're able to spool bigger turbos. so in effect, our small turbos are actually big for their motors and their turbos are small for our motors. or something to that effect.

Re: (TurboSedan)
Using a T3 .60/.48 60 trim on my SOHC D16z6 turbo setup as well. Hopefully have it installed next week but at the most 2 weeks. I think i want a .63A/R for it though
