who else hates downpipe bolts?
please leave all v-band comments at home. i WILL do a v-band when i upgrade later.
for now, ive used stainless steel downpipe bolts, lock washers and blue loctite to hold them in. AND its holding them in great. TOO great. i need to take them off, and i cannot break them loose.
i can get the 4 easy ones, but the bottem one thats a bitch to get to, u know which one, WILL NOT break loose. tried WD40, then PB blaster, and a good sized wrench to get torque to it. but nothing, the motor literally torques w/ the wrench when i pull on it. yes i am goin counter clockwise
its not stripped, yet. what should I try next?

PB will just smoke and burn a little, depending on how much is on the bolt. Nothing to worry about unless you throw the whole can into a fire.....ha ha!!

Re: who else hates downpipe bolts? (Flamenco-T)
look at u guys, jacking my thread.
i need to find a pipe to use as a breaker bar. only a 13mm wrench, no sockets, will reach this bolt, so its tuff to get a breaker bar on it.
tmw im gonna find some butane, and try torching it. well see what happens. im just really scared of stripping it cause stainless steel strips easily. i guess if i strip it ill just have to buy a little tiny cutter wheel and cut that bitch off. id rather not though. hehe

You know I always used anti-seize on mine, no washers or lockwashers, and they never came loost but were easy to take out.

Re: who else hates downpipe bolts? (Hatchblack)
After I put my Hondata IM gasket in, I used the original IM studs that I removed(replaced with longer ones) and put them on my turbine. They're the same thread, 8x1.25 I think, whatever thread DP bolts and IM/EM nuts/bolts are. I just used some new EM nuts and tightened them down, and they don't go anyway, but I can still get them off easilly. They're a lot easier to get on, and make it wayy easier to line the DP up.

Re: who else hates downpipe bolts? (Hatchblack)
I used some hex head bolts on the downpipe to make it easier to get them on and off. It's tough enough fitting a long enough wrench down there to get any leverage on it. After a few thousand miles they started backing out so i said screw it and replaced the bolts with some studs.
