eBay Turbo Kits? Yay or Nay?
Well, my dad ran into a kid at the Auto Parts store that has a EF Si and he convinced my dad to have me get some crappy turbo kit for $600 off eBay with 8 lbs of boost.
Should I or should I not?

Nay; the risk is far to high, literally have the potential to destroy your entire motor. when buying a ebay turbo it's 50/50 .. your better off saving your money and buying a legit one.

Where can I get a "legit one"?
Password:JDM doesn't have any. Only for B-Series and up.
I'll look around at some well known turbo sites..

The only thing those Ebay kits are good for is piping and possibly the intercooler. I agree with crvtectim and DC4......do a lot of reading on forced induction and how it affects everything else on the car. Just throwing a turbo on wont be reliable.

DO IT ON ALL FOURS
Re: eBay Turbo Kits? Yay or Nay?
Is this topic still even debated? Sounds like the beginning of a joke: "So this guy walks into a parts store..."
Like said before, you have too much to learn. Either research or take it to a shop; anyone who takes advice from a kid is an idiot.
PS - Password JDM isn't real "JDM"... they are a joke. You remind me of this video:

I requested a short story for a title.
Re: eBay Turbo Kits? Yay or Nay?
this has been debating billions of times but ill say it again. the main thing you need to avoid is the wastegate.. there the worst. also i would get another bov. the turbos are hit or miss. I have one and it works great. If you treat the turbo like you should then it will last, Break it in and make sure the oil feed line is restricted so the oil pressure does not blow out the seals in the turbo

Re: eBay Turbo Kits? Yay or Nay?
I'm not saying PW:JDM is a real JDM store. I know they make ALL their parts in the US. It's just where I'm getting MOST my parts.
I only trust popular sites. Everyone knows PW:JDM. So lay off. I build my car, my way. People are gunna know my parts where made in the US. I'm not gunna be that kid bragging I got my intake from Japan and show the receipt.
ANYWAYS, Turbo sites. Doesn't matter if I know alot or not. Help.

Re: eBay Turbo Kits? Yay or Nay?
Look here I got links for all the turbos you could ever think of for hondas!!!
Every turbo!! Click here!!
All seriousness stop being lazy and learn from research instead of being spoon fed like the spoiled teen you come off as, ive worked on ebay turbos that lasted 6 months before going, but same note guys have made some decent set ups piecing together parts, try the market place at the top and search/price, and def forced induction for reading
Honestly though I would stick to learning the basics first before jumping into boost *** first.

I honestly don't really want to get boost.
I'm just looking around to 50% prove a point and 50% see what's out there.

Does it matter? I'm RESEARCHING like most of you said.
Just help. I'm not asking 21 questions about everything you post for god sakes.

Helping is giving you a nudge in the right direction, spoon feeding you will only make you continue to be a lazy kid.
Go to www.google.com and do your own research.

So, your idea of "researching" is to go to a forum and ask other people to research for you and post their results?

Re: eBay Turbo Kits? Yay or Nay?
You want a turbo.
a turbo = boost.
You said "I honestly don't really want to get boost."
Now, since a turbo = boost, substitute that like a regular algebra problem and you end up with the following:
"I honestly don't really want to get a turbo."
This thread is pointless if you're not serious.
