Where to tap for nitrous fuel supply?
I am installing a wet nitrous kit on my b16 in my ef. I already did some searching and i know i need to tap for nitrous, most people say to use the fuel line running from the fuel filter to the rail, but would it be ok to tee into the return line? I am also running a walbro 190 to get the extra fuel.

No! Ther is hardly any pressur ein the return line. If you have an aftermarket fuel rail, you could tap into the other end of it or just tap into the top of the fuel filter banjo bolt.

Remove the Banjo bolt from the top of the fuel filter. The center punch a spot and drill a hole in the middle. Tap the hole for the 1/8" NPT threads. Install the 1/8" NPT fitting and run ss line to the fuel solenoid. Drill size will be on the tap for the threads.

Oh, I should of clarified that I don't want to do any drilling or tapping, just wanted to see if I could tee off of the return line.
So I should tee off of the supply line?

Re: (AaronJ)
I have never hooked up a PSI gauge to the return line before myself. The regulator pressurizes the rail back to the pump. The return may have about 20psi or so, just enough to get back to the tank. Not enough for a NOS kit rated for a minimum 43psi.

Re: (SFWD 1934)
i just tee'd off my fuel filter wit a 90' fitting from home depot. what ever you do DO NOT HOOK TO YOUR FUEL RAIL. This has caused a lot of mysterious bogging problems for people. It will rob the engine of fuel it needs. t off the filter not the rail and no the return line.

you can T off of the supply line. Ive done it a few times.
Id rather do a custom rail and braided lines, but some people I installed for are cheap asses

dont tap into the damn rail. It has nothing to do with being cheap, it has something to do with draining the ******* rail and running lean/bogging. Its the wrong way to do the job. it can look pretty all you want but it still doesnt work worth a ****. Try it and find out.

Dude relax. I have done tons of nitrous installs. I have never had a problem with an aftermarket rail tapped for fuel. And that has always been the way to do them. Cutting into a fuel line and T'ing off it isnt a better way.
Diff stroke for diff folks. I know how I prefer to do them.

If you dont want to drill. Buy a fuel pressure gauge for a Civic/Integra. They come with the banjo bolt that is already drilled and tapped for 1/8" NPT. Same exact thing. Here is one from Summit.

i'm using a golden eagle rail, and using the my unused inlet to feed my system. easy, clean way to do it.
formula: i have thought about what you said, but i think with a good fuel pump and good flowing rail, there shouldn't be any problems. however, i can't verify that as of yet.

Re: Where to tap for nitrous fuel supply? (JSpin)
i've seen it happen on a friends old car. he bought it with a kit already installed that was tapped into the rail. When we got rid of that setup and tapped into the fuel filter it hit a hell of a lot better. Apparently it was dropping pressure at the rail and starving the motor for fuel. Luckily it wasnt long enough to melt anything. there have been a few threads on it also. I'll see if i can find them tonight and i'll IM you. it may not be the cleanest wat to do things but just tap off the fuel filter, it works better.

Thats very interesting . i didnt think the pressure would drop in the rail if you had a constant fule supply to it.
You sure everything was done right?

yea let me know. this is very interesting to know. In that case then what is to say the fuel rail wont lose pressure when supplying the injectors with fuel?

^ Dont know. (actually i think i do but, whatever) I also cant prove to you why you dont see as much problem pulling fuel off the fuel filter as the rail, but i know it happens.

I never said anything about cutting a line and "T"ing into it. I've seen it done but i wouldnt do it. I found a brass fitting that screwed into my fuel filter that allowed me to run a line off it. if i get hold of a digicam i'll post pics. you dont have to drill, tap, cut or modify ****.

Well, Since the track opens tomorrow night, I went ahead and just cut the supply line and put a T in it, I ran it with the 50 shot and it took it fine, it pulled real good. Looking for mid 13's on the bottle, and 13 flat with slicks
