Where should I set VTEC engagement with my JRSC?
I'm driving around untuned right now.. just retarded the timing and I am going to get it tuned when I get back from vacation.
I was wondering what a good VTEC engagement point would be with my setup. (In sig) Right now it's stock at around 5500 I think. Seems to kick more around 6 though.

i personally dont really see the point in messing with the vtec engagement point. honda designed the system ver ywell and shouldnt need tinkered with. the only way i personally would change it is if i were on a dyno and it was proven that i was making power

From JR's installation instructions:
"When used with the Jackson Racing Supercharger system, the VPAC can be adjusted to engage the VTEC system at RPM points as low as 2700-3000 RPM. The large volume of boost available at this low RPM point via the supercharger allows the engine to have great pulling power even with the VTEC turned on at these low RPM points."

tried mine at 4500 and the extra power just made it spin the tyres. put it back to the standard 5800 and its much better. In third at wot i can keep traction all the way to red line in the dry!

I found 4200 rpm to be a good compromise... a bit more power can be found if you set it even lower, but then you're always "in VTEC" during highway cruising.
On the other hand, its pretty cool to set it higher and get kicked in the back when VTEC engages. Not the fastest option for the track, but its way fun :-)

Thanks for the info. I'll try the 4200RPM. I'm driving the car 600 miles on tuesday night so that's going to be my first real trip on her since the build. I'm gonna have some fun!
BTW.. I took a look at your website. What do you run in the 1/4mile?
