these are mine, im from cali but i heard that tony1 does cages aswell..
Louie@ L-con did mine. its not as expensive as steen chassis but it works and should be legal.
as for pre-bent kits they are not that great when it comes to fitment(main hoop to headliner) and so on....

2000$ range more or less... but if you go to a shop that does this and have done it for a while like steen chassis they will rape you!

Yeah sorry, I was talking about a weld in cage kit, a cage in the midwest cost around $1000 for a crx 8point, and the same on the eastcoast. The westcoast is always more expensive..........Since your from texas, I would expect around $100-$200 per point for the cage. It all depends on who you know, I could of gotten a 8 point cage done for $800 when I was at school in Omaha about 2 years ago, but steel prices are a lot higher now days...........

Eh. My hoop is a little low, but it's not that bad. I has about 2 3/4" of clearence to the headliner. That's really is my only gripe. My chassis guy did a good job by preloading the hoop, then welding it in though. Overall I'm happy.

Kens Kustom Chassis if you want a pre-bent and want to weld it in yourself.

Tony1 if you want to drop your car off somewhere and have it built for you.

A good cage should follow the contours of the headliner and B pillar very closely. Mine usually almost touch the headliner and B pillars when finished. You get what you pay for as far as cages go, they are definitely NOT all created equal! I've seen a lot of really bad cages, and a few really nice ones...

Yours actually looks pretty good from what i can see. When i first saw it i was pretty impressed with how it all fit and was done, and i wasn't surprised to hear Louie did it.
And the main hoop does not have to be bolted in, it can be bolted or welded in. If it's bolted you have to run a plate on top and bottom. I prefer to weld them in and weld the plate to at least 2 different planes, like the floor and rocker panel.

thanks... i guess the saying you get what you pay for is true
well he did put two plates just like you said..overall i am happy...
to anyone if you are picky and like the gap to be minimal asmuch as possible have 1 custom made.. its the best way to go. imo

Pre bent cages never fit as tight as a cage done for you car by someone who does good work.

Absoluty correct. Mine was just a deal I couldn't refuse. IMO $765 is not alot to have a 6 point installed. But again, you do get what you pay for.

Couldn't agree more, and safety is one spot where I would never cheap out on my car. Yeah, you can save some money in other areas like a paint job, or going with a journal bearing turbo instead of ball bearing, cast manifold instead of tubular, etc, but for a cage, harnesses, DS loop, scattersheilds, I'll never skimp on any of that.
