Default Where exactly should I put the drainback plug on my new oilpan?

I bought a new oilpan because I bottomed out one too many times on my old one... I THINK I might have had a drainback issue on my old oil pan.

Where exactly should I drill the hole for my fitting?

I've been told that I should pay attention and not put the drainback where the windage would hit it... I thought the windage tray would negate this...

I've heard it needs to be above normal oil level... Isn't 4ish quarts up to the oil pan gasket almost? How can I do this with nearly a 1" hole in my pan?

Help guys... I wanna do this on RIGHT, so my car won't smoke and eat up another turbo seal again!

As high as possible and not in the way of the pan bolts. Don't worry about tray. Just eyeball it to make sure nothing will be in the way internally.

Any other suggestions?? Should I use 45 degree fittings or 90 degree? Should I make the stainless drain as straight as possible or leave it slack and bulging? What size AN line would be best? Using 6 now... should I step up to 8?

I'd 45 it and use an 8 if u got the room. Basically the oil returns using only gravity so use common sense and you'll be fine. I think nice return kits are sold by someone on this board
