The water jacket on the head is where i put mine. It's the best place since the water jacket is easy to take off. Theres plenty of space on the water jacket to drill and tap for the sensor.

I just replaced the stock one in the head with the aftermarket one. Then I ran two seperate wires from it. One being the stock wire and the other wire going to the aftermarket guage. HTH

It should come with whichever gauge you decide to get. I have an Autometer guage and it came with one.

Thanks for the info guys, keep them coming.
Ryan, do you mean the signal from the aftermarket sensor also feeds the stock gauge?
I'm in the process of trying something out and here's my idea. I'm currently using an Autometer oil temp gauge (100-250F) which is mounted on a triple pillar pod. The Autometer water temp gauge is also 100-250F and uses the exact same sensor. I can buy a new sensor separately for $14 without buying the complete gauge set. Since I don't have anymore room to add another gauge pod or want to spend more money to get a cluster bezel, I can simply add a switch between the two temp sensors and the existing oil temp gauge. Once it's hookup, I should be able to toggle which temp reading to monitor. What do you think?

Easy as that. As far as the other idea goes....seems like it might work to me.... Hope this helped rather than confused...but by the looks of the date you probrably already figured it out.

Greddy sensor drilled and tapped into thermostat housing. Still using oem sensor in stock location.

Can we put the sensor between the hose that goes from the head to the radiator? Will that be just as accurate?

I teed mine off from the throttle body coolant line. It was really easy and only took $5 worth of parts and 10 minutes of my time.
