Default Where to buy this turbo?....

It's a Garret T3/T4 Hybrid A/R .70 Compressor with a .63 exhaust(courtesy of HomeMade turbo)

I'm looking for a similar turbo, not the exact same one, but close. Anyone know of a place that sells them for less then 700 bucks?

Thanks for any info.

There was a groupbuy for Garrett T3's awhile back and there will probably be another one soon according to slow_ass_4dr.

I still think you should consider the JDM S14/S15 T28 turbo. I think it is a much better match for the ZC and it is physically a lot smaller.

400HP ZC? Damn...I'm shooting for a 250 to 275 hp with my ZC and T28. With a larger compressor and/or larger turbine, I think the T28 could put out about 350 hp. The Pulsar GTiR turbine and compressor housings are quite a bit larger.

What are your plans for the block? I've got Endyn Rollerwave 9:1 pistons, Eagle rods, o-ringed deck, and will probably do block "posts". Even at 250 hp, I'm worried about the strength of the stock sleeves.

Maybe 350. BUT it would be so ineffecient at that level it would need to be pumped up to 25+ psi.

As for the block...

Maily just a Posting setup along with a good flowing block gaurd. I'm going to tune the CRAP out of it and slowly turn up the boost until I reave my power goals. BTW, I'm not going to be seeing 18 PSI ever day. I'm going to set my boost controller at 5psi(switch off) and 14 psi(switch on) for normal driving. The Phased water injection will allow me to run safely with a CR of 10:1 and the hi-boost. Then at the track the boost will get turned up to 18+ and nice race gas will be filling the tank.

The sleeves should easily take the punishment, as long as the fuel setup is DAMN reliable. Which it will be. As long as you keep the stock bore, the sleeves are very stong. Abaz is even bored .2 over, with only a posting setup, and is going to be running 20+, on his ZC.

Right now this is the setup I'm looking forward to...
super 16G(maybe the Hybrid if I can find it cheeper)
Custom Manifold
3" DP
Eagle Rod's
10:1 CR Piston's(manufacture ?)
Full race port
SS valves
Extrude honed Intake mani
Bored TB
500cc ford injectors
255 Walbro
Phased water injection
AEM fuel rail
AEM pres reg.
AEM filter
SS lines
Crane igniton
Quafie
ARP bolts everywhere I can put them
Lot's and lot's of Zdyne tuning with a wideband O2 and my local Dyno.

If I could get to 350 I'd be happy.

I got mine used with about 10k miles for $495.

Specs:
Garrett T-28
60 trim 60 mm BCI-1 compressor in
.60 a/r T-04B compressor housing
Water cooled/Ball bearing center section
62 trim 53.8mm T-28 GMR turbine
.64 A/R turbine housing.

The Pulsar GTiR uses a .86 a/r turbine housing and a 73 trim turbine.

Louis Anaya aka TurbochargedSER sells both turbos new. You can get a used one from Ian Martinez @ islander128@vision1mm.com

Bryson:

It looks like we will be travelling down a similar road using different tools. Cool! It should be a good learning process for the both of us and hopefully, we'll be able to help each other out.

This is my planned setup:

1987 D16A1 USDM Integra block (smog reasons...long story)
Endyn Rollerwave 75.5mm 9:1 pistons
Eagle rods
JDM ZC cylinder head
JDM ZC cams
Block "posts" ala Endyn
JDM S14/S15 T28 Garrett turbo @ 15 psi or whatever it takes
HKS T28 turbo manifold
??? intercooler (air to air for sure)
2.5" custom exhaust...maybe 3"...not sure yet
DSM 450cc injectors
Inline or intank pump (depends on whether I can get an intank pump for a 1G CRX)
OBD1 wiring conversion (this is gonna be fun)
Hondata Stage 4B (already own it)
Rebuilt 89 Integra CG transmission (working on it now)
??? LSD

My goal is 225 to 250 whp in my 1G CRX that I plan to have down to about 1800 lbs. It currently weighs about 1900 even. The D16A1/ZC engine is a little heavier than the stock one and the turbo and stuff will add weight, so I'll have to get more weight out of the car. I still have plenty of options there though.

This setup should be good for a mid 12 second pass...we'll see.

I think that's too big for a ZC...but if you want it, I can get it...600 shipped is the price, but there is downtime....

You should just go with a smaller turbo

Cool. I'm not looking to buy it right now, but I might down the road. Just looking at my options for now.

Sonney...It's great that your also in the works for a built ZC! When do you plan on starting the project? when do you plan on being finished?

I'm doing my build up in 4 stages.

1st...Block build up. That includes every thing that's going inside the engine, but nothing outside. Beacause I am removing the tranny at the same time I am installing the Qualfie at this point.
2nd...fuel setup. Includes the pump, injectors, lines, water injection... and so on...
3rd...The turbo build up. Includes the manifold, turbo, New BOV, 2.5" dp
4th...The Head and intake manifold. A spare head will get rebuilt and ported along with the intake mani.

I am starting in July... and here are my time frames for each build...
1st...August
2nd...August/September
3rd...September
4th...October

In October I am also Going to buy a 200 Dollar Civic to use as my daily beater during the winter. Then, i'll drive the CRX in the summer, and keep the beater inside to work on.

We've got a baby on the way (due in October), so I am trying to finish as much as I can before he's born. The D16A1/ZC stuff is all in the garage on the bench right now. I'm just waiting for my Eagle rods and then it is off to the machine shop for a bore/hone/o-ring job. I'm hoping to have the new engine in the car within the next 2 months.
