place it where your stock one was...... why? because there is more room to do so after the oil pan

well you usually want to make a bracket on your downpipe so it will bolt to the block somewhere right after the oil pan(like on stock hondas) and then just run the flex right after the bracket, so there is no stress on the downpipe/turbo/mani when the engine vibrates and moves

I never seen a DP with a bracket.... maybe SS Auto might need that but not any decent downpipe/manifold setup.

A bracket at the end of the downpipe is never a bad idea for longevity...

wouldnt a hanger (basically holding the DP in place) defeat the purpose of the flex pipe?

ie turbo --> DP --> DP hanger --> flex pipe --> exhaust
the flex pipe wouldnt flex much?
i thought the flex pipe was to help when the motor tq'd back?

so it should be like this:
ie turbo --> DP -->flex pipe --> DP hanger --> exhaust

or am i missing something?

turbo>downpipe>brace to engine block>flexpipe>exhaust

You don't want the downpipe to flex between the flex section and the turbo.

makes more sense when you say it like that

i was under the understand impression that the flex section was to take the stress off the DP when the motor moved, which didnt make sense.
thanks for clearing it up.

It's just to allow something to give when the motor moves. The downpipe itself, pre flex, should not move though.

Looks nice man.

Good to have a brace right behind the oil pan before the flex
