When you guys rebuilt your motor... did you reuse some of the parts from your old block to your new block? if so, which parts did you use and which parts did you buy new for your new block besides the obvious pistons, rods, sleeves..? i don't want to buy new parts for the new block if it's not necessary.. for example the crank..
new oil pump?
new girdle?
new oilpan, pick up, baffle? etc etc....
thanks

all depends on what shape the old ones are in, that is left to the descretion of the builder/customer. I re-used all of it except the pickup since it was dirty/damaged.
I have a B18B so no girdle for me to re-use.

Re: When you fully rebuilt your motor, which parts from the old block did you use on your new block?
I replaced everything except:
main caps
crank
girdle
external hard parts (OE oil cooler, brackets, etc)
I put every new seal I could on the lower end. Oil pan, pick up, oil pump housing, oil pump gear are some extranious items that could be fine on a newer block, but with mine being so old and abused, I elected to replace as much as I could.
