It depends on howm much boost. I boosted 18 psi on my 18g and it spooled 5500-6000 rpm.In fact I put down 347 whp at 7100rpm.

yeah i was thinking about boost leaks also. yesterday i took off the filter asssembly thingy that comes with the greddy kit and there was lots of oil. the turbo seems to have a little bit of shaft play but nothing too bad, i cant understand it, i have only had the turbo on for less than a year, i always turbo time it and most of the time drive it somewhat conservative. kinda sucks but i am going to wait and see if the oil comes back.

make sure your wastegate actuator is holding steady and not leaking.
if it isn't closed all of the way, it'll take a while to build boost.

How long do you let the timer run? I have always had a little bit of oil in the pipe before the compressor. I have no idea what gives. I had it rebuilt last December and have only driven a few K miles on it since then. I let the turbo always cool off for about a minutes or so.

Mine has a shitload of shaft play, not hitting the compressor housing yet but will need a rebuild soom though. I hit 19lbs at about 4000, maybe 4200, I'll look at some log files to know for sure. At low boost (13 lbs) it is @ full boost right at 4k for sure. On the highway @ 80 in 5th (4400) it makes full boost almost instantly when I mash the gas.
