Default whats up guys.....quick qestion

whats up guys i havent posted in here in awhile but have some questions for yall. I have 1995 gsr, the motor is fully built up with je forged pistons 9:1 compression, eagle rods, ferrera valve springs and retainers, brand new gsr cams, 310 rc injectors, decked block, fields vtec controller and i just got an LS tranny put in (thanks to Beau and Dave) and my questions are......

1. With my engine mods and just hit 1000 miles on the rebuild How much power am i looking at say maybe at 16psi of boost??

2. How high can a T3 turbocharger boost up to before its just blowing hot air.

3. And also what are you guys fuel settings on your Fields vtec controller(for those who have them).

I am about to put together my turbo kit but will the T3 be able to hit my magic goal of 400hp? or should i be looking at t3/t4 or just the t4 period?

i'm not sure on the exact specs of the t3 t3/t4 stuff but i'm pretty sure t3 is kinda small to get 400hp. on top of all that may i suggest to you, 16 psi, please get standalone fuel management.

Well, a T3 Super 60 may be able to hit that high HP..........but the moderate "trim" T3/T4 will be much more efficient at that hp and boost level.

this is true with the T3 Super 60, you will be in the upper limits of the compressor. If your ultimate goal is 400 HP, then you will probably be boosting about 20 PSI or more. With that much PSI the T3 Super 60 is heating the air up about 45-50% (average is 25% non-intercooled), and the compressor is spinning in excess of 154,000 RPMS!!! (average is about 90,000-120,000 RPM)

154,000 RPMs is very high, I think that compressors that operate at VERY VERY high RPM's (like this one) will require more rebuilds (I think) and it would also require a lot of lubrication, and the very high heat from the rotating assembly will probably break down the engine oil faster (very frequent oil changes)

that last paragraph is just my opinion, I would get a second or third opinion to be sure. I just thought they sounded like they made sense.

BTW just go with a T3/T4 hybrid it'll be so much easier to deal with if you're trying to hit 400 HP

BTW to give you a comparison of the T3 and the T3/T4 hybrid:

I said that the T3 Super 60 would be at its MAX potential, you couldn't go higher than 20 PSI or rev higher than 7200 RPMs

T3 Super 60 @ 20 PSI = 154,000 Compressor RPM (45-50% efficiency)
T4E 54 trim @ 20 PSI = 100,000 Compressor RPM (76% efficiency)

the T4E 54 was just used as an example, it could or COULD NOT be the right size turbo for you.
