Default Whats needed to calculate volumetric efficiency?

Whats need to calculate volumetric efficiency?

I searched a bit and found these :

volumetric efficiency = acutal cfm / theoretical cfm x 100

theoretical cfm = rpm x displacement / 3456

Help me out

are you trying to just find out in general or to calculate the right size turbo? second formula is straight forward.. i guess thats good enough

Yeah for the ideal turbo for my application.

I think you would have better luck just looking at compressor maps of your possible turbo selections, and just figuring it out from there.

i haven't done this in a while.. but i did write some of the links down as i did the search.. its as complicated as it is simple.. complicated if you try to follow every step and formula, simple because you don't have to be precise on the dot as it won't make dramatic difference, you could reference to what others use and most of the time its oversize so just make sure its nothing larger than what they use for that hp level.. calculate compressor, then a/r trim - there are forumulas to caluclate everything and all included in archives, another link not included in here is turbo size calculator - search arvhives for it as well..

heres some reference i found a while back:

I love you, Flamebait... I knew you would make me proud. Most people don't ask questions like this, they just want to know, or to be able to infer, "a good turbo for my setup."

Actually you need to know a few things about the motor first before you can figure out the VE. You must put it on a dyno to know exact numbers though. But the rest you can figure out here.
