whats the MAX amp when choosing a racing puller fan
Hey guys,
i have this SPAL 13" puller fan which i set up as a pusher....now i have a PWR 1/2 size full race radaitor and since am living in a hot area and the fan am using is not efficient at traffic! leaning towards a racing fan now with the same diammeter size and noticed some racing fans require more Amps ....whats the stock fan amps? now whats the MAX amp i should be looking for? is 9.5A allot to wire it directly to the stock wires?
any pics on how racing fans are setup?
am leaning towards Perma-cool 2950 CFM fan, but dont know if a shroud required to make it work right!

hehe yea it even reminds me of horror movies
anyway i remember someone on this forum used it and cant really find any spec on how he set it up.....i dont mind making a shroud as long it works really good! i want something that stays on shorter and doesnt give ECT chances of going up high!

as far as i know if not good to use a puller as a pusher or the other way around.
the blades are good for only one way.

racing fan... wow, talk about marketing.
I dont see how "racing fans" differ from normal fans. Just get something that has a high flow rate and you should be fine.

Yeah, finger-slicer, but alot of old RWD cars had fans without any shrouding.

well the SPAL am using right is a puller and set as a pusher after i checked its papers and it does say reversable fan...then i noticed that i cant flip the fan since its the type that is pushed in (so i hooked it up and swapped polarity)! anyway i need to upgrade my fan setup to puller now and this fan is not cutting it since its only 920CFM and i believe i need something that flows +2000CFM! noticed the high CFM fans are called racing type!
any suggestions here guys? i need seomthing that flow +2000CFM? any brand/model specs?
i did a search and most slim fans dont go above 1700 CFM (checked Flex A-Lite, SPAL, Summit, Delrale (sp?), Be Cool, Perma-Cool...etc) all +2000 CFM type are racing like the one i linked above!

hehe....thats what they are called on most FAN sites.....these are the only types i found that flow +2000CFM! i did search and if you think theres a slim fan out there that can flow +2000 CFM well am interested to purchase it since i looked everywhere and wasnt successful
i was told that most fan makers dont flow as they state just for advertisement reasons and should look into the fans motor amp draw to know that it will flow more! i could be wrong, but i rather buy something that flows for exmaple 2500CFM and probably only flowing +1900CFM which is in the end better than the 920CFM i have right now! get it?
