What's the latest and greatest tuning options for OBD0?
I am considering boosting my first gen. B16a with a PR3 ecu. I will only do so if I find a reputable tuning tool. This motor is in my DA integra. I'd suspect that the greatest for OBD0 is still TurboEdit, but I can't verify this.
Let me know.
P.S.- What about Zdyne? I haven't seen much about it here on Honda-Tech. It might be cool. I'm not sure if it's batch fire, or sequential.

BRE, without a doubt...or the old school Hondata "stage" series, if you can find one.
BRE is a free rom editor, and it there are several people running 300+ hp with it, and i personally will be switching from my hondata stage 3b to BRE to shoot for 350

What if I didn't? What's out there for me?
P.S.- Hell, I may end up going OBD1, but just for ***** and giggles, i'll study up on OBD0 first.

I have heard on many occasions that the BRE setup is unstable. What about Zdyne?

I think you're right. Good point on the headache part. I mean, everyone messes with Crome, Hondata, or AEM here where i'm from.

I tuned a car on it once, back in the early days. Ran like a champ, I saw nothing unstable with it. More recently I chipped a guy's CRX with it to remove the speed limiter and it worked great and I was pleased with the improvements to the interface.
At PRI I was chilling with a good dozen of the active pgmfi developers and BRE was discussed and I never heard that, either, and those are the people who would know. Anonymous people I do not know claiming instability without factual basis doesn't inpress me, given how stupid the average person on forums are they probably stuck PR3 code into a PW0 ECU and didn't stop to think that the problem with how the car ran was entirely their own fault.
Anyway, despite all that, I'm with Mr Shue... there are SO many features with OBD1 softwares it makes sense to convert.
PS if you want a ZDyne, I'm pretty sure Speed Phreak's ZDyne Gold is sitting on a shelf collecting dust. It always ran well, and he liked it. PM him here and I'll make sure he logs in to check his PMs.

i've used BRE on a few cars, i've been very impressed with it. Very stable, i know of 3 cars that i tuned on BRE that went 12's on stock blocks on low boost, one went 11's.
Don't get me wrong, obd1 stuff is better, esp if you want tons of extra crap, but for the average broke crx/ef guy, BRE will do the job.

I think i'm going OBD1 and "tooooooning" with Hondata. There are a handful of Hondata dealers in my local area. Some of them are known to be very good tuners.

I still haven't converted to OBD1, so I am still rather noobish on the OD1 tuning programs. What are the additional features on for example, crome or uberdata vs. BRE?

Too much to list. Since you can download both for free and have a poke at them it's better than attempting to tell you all about them.
If you ever have a problem with either, though, I'm very handy and can save you some time.

OBD1 is for sheep.
i seriously considered OBD1 but then did a lil research and found BRE.
running it now and will be running it when my b20 goes in.
all the time spent wasted on here when you could instead be scouring the pgmfi.org forums for the info you need.
no 4-wire o2 sensors (unless you want to datalog), no dizzy swap, no rewiring harnesses or installing new ECUs.
download BRE, buy a hulog, an ostrich 2.0 and an LC-1 wideband...its less than going obd1.

Re: (patriot)
i went 11.0 @ 127mph with bre. so, don't listen to the peaple who said its unstable.
also, i have tune more than 10 cars N/A with it, they range from 190hp to 220hp without any problem.

i use TE, you can download it over on PGMFI. it is being further developed as we speak, and new releases come out all the time... check out ECUcontrol plugin as well for datalogging, RTP, auto tune, map trace... etc..
if you use the TE software make sure to tell the current developers if u find any glitches
