Default what's involved in turbo tuning?

how much difference does it make... cost, etc...

i can't seem to find any good resources for information on turboing b-series engines... like there's plenty of kits and things, but i'm more looking to learn.

i've found plenty of pages that explain how turbos basically work so i get it, but i know that the actual thermodynamics and such is much more complicated, so i'm looking for some quick answers

theres been a couple good articles in sport compact car. Check out that stuff. they talk about turbo sizing and how they work and stuff. But if you want to learn about tunning... I would guess you ask the local dyon or tunning shop to help ya with that one.

There is no tuning until you get some sort of ECU that is boost sensitive.. otherwise you just use an FMU with high volume fuel pump.. or u can do it ghetto style and use an AFC to "tune" your A/f ratios but this is not effective cause the AFC does not know when u r boosting and when u r not.. and if u switch boost from daily to racing, then u will have to remember your settings and change them on the AFC everytime u change the boost level..

im interested in boosting much higher levels on stock internals..i heard if "tuning"is done right this can be accomplished. what exactly needs to be tuned? ignition timing and a/f ratios dependent on boost levels? and what would be an efficient way of doing this? hondata 2b or apex power FC? please let me kno..i posted before and got no answers. thanks

Hondata Stage 2 b will do well, it will have to be dialed in at a dyno to be absolutely sure. However, I have read that some have gotten the Hondata and dyno tuned it only to find that it did not need any adjustment.
