whats the best way to seal the slipjoint into the downpipe
FMAX tells you to use permatex copper high temp silicone to seal all mating surfaces like the turbo to the manifold and attachment to the downpipe. Its only rated to about 700F and it looks like the stuff isn't holding up. Maybe it does provide a seal within the joint though.
I didn't put any in the slipjoint and I have exhaust gases leaking around a little bit. Certainly enough that when I raise my hood I smell it and see it. (I doubt its what is coming out of my BOV). I can feel where it is slipping by. How do people go about sealing those wastegate slipjoints into the downpipe??
thanks

I haven't dont it yet, but probably any kind of exhaust leak fixer type stuff will work. That or maybe JB weld??

uhm....
i tried JB weld and it fell apart in less than 1 hr driving.
i was told now that that joint is ok to be leaking a little gas since it goes to the exhaust anyway and a leak won't mean a power loss.
