What's the best turbo for 300hp on a built B18B????
I want to built a custom turbo kit for my B18B but i'm in a dilemma between which turbo use.
I want 300hp steetable with a load of torque (spool fastly) in the base of the power curve. I want to choose a turbo that already exist on many factory powered turbo car so I was thinking about a WRX turbo or a DSM.
What do you about the WRX turbo (TD04 I think...)? Spool fast so a lot of low end torque and power.
My goal is to run fast in street (13s low- 12s high) with a good drivebility.

sounds like you would be happy wit a greddy kit. its a td05-18g turbo. its a mitsubishi turbo

A smaller t3/T04b might work well also.. some like a .48 on the exhaust, and a .50 on the comp. trim.
It will spool nice and fast, and you can still use a externally wastegated manifold unlike the greddy.

I would look into MaxRev kits as well... You will end up spending more than you think if you buy it piece by piece, just a forewarning

Thank you for your input but I don't want a plug and play kit like Greddy... I want to built my own kit with custom or factory parts. So I want to know if I could use a WRX or DSM turbo.
What's the difference (performance, tuning) between a extern or intern wastegate?? What's model of factory turbo powered car comes with a extern WG??

I think you can pick up a greddy SOHC kit for a good price (1500) + a good FMIC (300-500) and then a good fuel mangament system and you'll be very happy.

How horsepower and torque do you think a WRX turbo put on a B18B with FMIC, 3" DP and exhaust, SMC+, 450cc and a good tunning at 9-10psi?

This thread has to have some of the dumbest replies I've seen. Even if a WRX turbo supports 300, it's gonna be like a 75 year old smoker with asthma doing windsprints...get a T3/T04E and you'll be happy.

yes t3/t04E will rock your world. Full spool by 4.5k rpm and loads of top end.

T3/T04e .48 turbine .60 compressor 57 trim wheel. good for 350hp. go to cheapturbo.com I'm getting mine in a week
