Default What are your SC61/B18C1 setups making @ low boost?

- I'm just wondering how much power you guys are making @ low boost (9-11psi) with this turbo?
- What engine are you running, and what CR?
- And I am also wondering how much timing your running @ full boost?

Just a little worried about how much power I am making @ 9psi with a T4/SC61 and 2.0L GSR... :/. Trying to figure some things out.

I know there was a guy on here maybe a year or two ago that made 380 WHP at 9 psi on a 10:1 83MM GSR motor.

I made 302/220tq at 7200 on a stock bore gsr. this is at about 8/9 psi
9.5 to 1 comp
drag manifold
edelbrock im
3in open downpipe
only was revved to 7200 because of creep issues with the drag manifold
a/f was in the 11's and i havent seen the timing maps

Hrmmm

I trapped 108, and my car weighs 2350 with me in it. According to the HP calculations I was making around 250hp to the wheels.

The base map is currently running 20 degrees @ 9psi.

When are you getting it tuned? Is it just a base map, (that may be the problem) or is it tuned, just not fully tuned?

might not help at all but ran 10.19 on 81mm gsr, 9.0:1 compression on 26 lbs. Never had it on a dyno though. Trapped in the mid 140s.

AFR is 10-12:1 and isn't very flat, but what I've learned is that the AFR doesn't impact HP very much at all.

The timing is about right from what I've seen.

Based on those two factors, I'm not so sure its the "tuning", however that of course has to be part of it.

Oh...

one thing I have to add, is that I'm @ 5800ft so the correction factor also comes into play.

5800 feet in elevation can easily account for a 20-25% loss in power. For example, my old car was a 5.0 mustang with a couple bolt on parts, dynoed it at 5400 feet. Uncorrected? 182 RWHP. SAE Corrected? 230 RWHP. If you get the same kind of correction factor I did, that 250 WHP becomes 315 WHP SAE, sounds on par for 9 PSI from an SC61 without a lot of tuning.

Why the T4/SC61 on such low boost? Do you plan on boosting more in the future? The #'s sound about right when corrected.

I didnt make a whole lot of power with the sc61 @ 14 psi (see sig)
I was hoping for 350 hp+
its a B18c stock bore
Im adding some new parts and going to go back for more tuning
some factors that are possibly hurting me now are:

conservative tuning at around 10.5 a/f (looking go 11-12 a/f)
2.5 dp - 2.25 exhaust (will change to a 3" soon)
stock tb (may bore to 64 mm or go larger)
stock im (may go with a Victor X)
slightly lower than 9:1 comp (staying same)
mbc (will go with a profec b)
tiny air filter in front of radiator fan blowing hot air on it (already went to a cold air 3" airfilter)

For now im looking to make 350 hp with just a 3" exhaust, new air filter and more tuning, same boost level.

Good luck with your goals

You should kill your-self.

I was just trying to scope out the field to see how much power people were making @ low boost, so I can see how I compare.

TurboChrgd_Civic... I was just running so low boost because I don't have a 3bar sensor yet, and because I will gradually increase boost when I dyno the car.

So I guess the car is running alright from the responses so far. As soon as I get a 3bar map sensor, I will be heading to the dyno and tuning for 25psi.

i wouldn't worry about it considering the altitude factor..

@ 25psi you should be able to hit around 450 uncorrected..

Bryson: When I was in Colorado, the car I had ran like ****! You gotta factor in the altitude man. The car (Lancer) felt ok at the airport (5000 ft), but when I was up near Cripple Creek (10,000 ft), I thought I was gonna have to get out and push.

Cool...

I'm just anxious to dyno the car to truely find out how much power I'm making...

Hows the R1 Sonny?

Bone stock JDM GSR (10.6:1) with injectors and Hondata. SC61. 9-9.5 psi on pump gas. 320 whp. Ran consistant 11.40's.

Some times I wish I was at a much lower altitude...

R1 is badass...modding it is addicting.

Anyway, I remember seeing some dyno charts from some Colorado peeps and the dyno had a correction factor of like 1.25 or 1.3, I think? If you were conservative and said 1.25 on 250 whp, that would put you at 313 whp at sea level.

You can get pretty good numbers depending on the stuff you put on. Here is mine.

You guys are good drivers...I don't know how your get so low E.Ts like that.

I ran best with street tires at 13.4sec @117mph.
