Default What you do when you are mad at your drag car

You turbo your daily driver. Check my sig for drag car problems/details if you never saw it.

B18B1 in a 97 Hatch. Quaife LSD LS Tranny. 97 ITR brakes and wheels.

-Weir racing short tubular manifold and downpipe combo with wastegate on the downpipe.
- Turbonetics 57 or 60 trim turbo ( it is bigger than my drag car that is all I know)
-2.5 inch charge pipes
- Crome Pro
- CCA intercooler
- DSM 450s
- DSM BOV
- Stealthmode oil line stuff and that is about it.
- PLX M300 wideband and crap

I was pretty much pissed off at my drag car and put it on hold so I can play with something else. It is on 10-15 psi. 10 right now with the stock fuel pump and 15 eventually when the fuel pump gets here. So yea, just thought I would post some pics up. I had to shorten the downpipe and shave some of the block and the lower tq mount to get it to fit, but it is all good now.

How about this. Any body know how much PSI a stock DX pump is good to?

There it is now technical...

^^ BTW just kidding.. Mine maxes out at about 10 psi or a little less.

Am i missing something here? Wouldn't putting the wastegate AFTER the turbo be pointless in order to keep boost at the desired level?

Yep you are missing something. If you put the wategate where the internal wastegate hole is.. on a 5 bolt there is a little hole that an internal wastegate could go in. You route that to the external wastegate and it regulates just like it would have an internal gate.

It has the old D beat on 12 psi.

The wastegate is a 38mm. Also the hole is big enough to regulate boost, how do you think the internal gates do it. They are that small.

Indeed. Thanks for the hookup.

Also I haven't had any boost creep at all on the setup so far.

Thanks for the replies
