what would a a hairline crack in a sleeve be like?
just trying to narrow some stuff down before i buy a headgasket and pull the head i don't have much downtime so i just want to spend one day if its the headgasket, and if its the sleeve....well i have no idea what i will do then, probably just kill everyone who is around me at the time and then kill the guy who tuned my car and then kill myself.
the story on the car again. b16 head/ b18c1 block 84mm rs sleeves, je pistons, eagle rods, close to stock compression. jrsc tuned at 9psi. car was detonating pretty bad while dyno tuning. Second run when timing was advanced a puff of white smoke shot out of my breather filter on the valve cover and that was that. now it still smokes slightly from the breather filter and there is very small deposits of oil in my coolant resevior. The car dynoed at 248whp and 172 torque and runs great with the exception of the smoking thing. IT doesn't smoke from the exhaust, just the breather. I put another 200 miles or so after the tuning, and it has not got any worse than the day i drove home from the dyno. compression is 180 straight across. coolant resevior goes down about .25" every 50 miles or so, oil stays on point. headgasket is an oem gsr btw. any advice is appreciated, even if you say go **** yourself kid just to bump my post up.
