Default What type of Oil pressure gauge should I Get

I have a 95 gsr stock block with 57trim t3/t4 set at 7psi. I have an oil sandwich plate on the back of the block for my oil feed to the turbo and i have two other ports on that adapter. Should i get an electric oil pressure gauge or should i get the "manual" one and connect to one of the extra ports i have on the sandwich plate adapter?

Im not really sure about the electric guages but i know that sometimes the manual ones will not work right out of the box..I put a brand new one in my car, and it said i had 0 oil pressure..Borrowed one from a friend it at worked perfectly. So i had to get another new one and it worked. Same thing happened to my friend.

Mechanical oil pressure gauge will always react faster then an electrical guage. But I am weary of running oil and fuel lines past the firewall, so i use electrical.

DEFI, HKS, GReddy all are top brands of gauges. They are many others also.

gauge usually has power, ground, power and ground for the light, and a wire from the gauge to the pressure sensor that you thread into the back of your block.

There are countless threads on this and how to set it up.

I personally have a SS hose from the original oil pressure sensor hole on the back of the block to the firewall and from there I tee the oil pressure gaue and oil temp gauge and OEM oil pressure light.

I have a oil filter sandwhich adapter for my oil feed to turbo also.

ps...does anyone know how to make the picture larger? I have it on we-todd-did yada yada and they always come out as thumbnails.

so would u just splice the wire from the gauge into the stock oil pressure sensor on the back of the block? is this accurate?

no.

The gauge will come with its own pressure sensor. This will have a wire coming out of the sensor that will go to the back of the gauge. Screw the pressure sensor into one of the open ports on your oil filter sandwhich.

All other wiring is done in the inside of the car to the fuse panel or other wires inside the car.
