what turbo would be best for me?
okay, i was before running a greddy 18g turbo kit on my gsr but i want more.... here is what my set-up will be-
b18c1 standard bore lower compression pistons (somewhere between 9 and 9.5:1) i may bore out lke .25
aftermarket rods (prob. like a manley)
block gaurd
basically ill prob. be running around 15psi at the track and im trying to figure out what size turbo to get
im thinking t3/to43 57 trim with .48 a/r... should i go bigger? i dont want something to laggy and i definetaly dont want to overkill with turbo size, do i have the right idea or should i look into something else? any help would be great

Re: what turbo would be best for me? (E-spec Tuner)
I would look into a precision either the sc50 or sc32 either one of these would probably be a good choice. I would run a .63 a/r though it would give you a better top end since you are running a GSR motor.
Call up to precision and talk to Rod he can help you choose the best one for your app.

Re: what turbo would be best for me? (30psi Teg)
what about the sc61? the car will be street driven, will a sc61 on 12-15 lbs on a b18c1 put out good power? or would that be overkill and laggy?

If you take the time to learn to read a compressor map, you will thank yourself. It will tell you what size trim you should run...

i tried to learn that, but how do u calculate the VE at different RPMS? No one really seems to know the actual VE of the motor at peak, let alone how to determine it at different RPM points,

Re: (WebGeek)
ya im just worried about getting into a turbo that is extremely laggy,i basically am just looking for a setup that will give me the most power running 15 lbs of boost. i've heard the sc61 is bad *** but im worried it may be too laggy and not put out the numbers in comparison to a t3/to4e sine the t3 will be more maxed

Re: (E-spec Tuner)
As for volumetric eff. I have found some good VE calculators around the internet I think Ray Hall Turbocharging has a good one.
As for running the sc-61 for your set up I think it would be a little over kill for like 12-15psi. I would run a small trim compressor like the sc-50 or 32 would probably fit you better and give you better spool times than the sc-61

probably best with a .63 ar b/c it will help out top end since you have GSR motor. As for trim best if you talk to whoever you order it from but, the 69 trim would be just fine just my .02
