Default What Turbo for B18C5 7-10 PSi

Hi!
I have a hard time deciding what turbo to use on my B18C6 Euro Type R engine.
I'm looking for 7-10Psi on a stock bottom with a inlinepro head gasket.
I'm want a nice top end. Like a n/a engine.
Any suggestions?

/Yash

60 trim t3/to4e .63 ar or .82 ar would work perfect

Why 7-10psi???? Why not think about how much how much power your looking to put out and then get a turbo for that power range and run how much ever boost it takes to get to that power level...

Because i donno exacly much power it will put out with my setup. Maybe 250-260hp.
It will probably last for more than 10PSi but run alot on the track and i want it to be quite safe.
And Type R engines are expensive

I know how much type-r motors are, I have one.. Just find out how much power you can put out of one stock and then shoot for a little less than that amount of power..

Aight how much power you think i can pull out safely with lowered compression with the 2mm headgasket.

The lowered compression has nothing to do with it.. The headgasked would only come into play if it was stronger than the stock one or something..

If a motor with 11:1 compression could hold 300hp then the same motor with 8:1 compression would hold 300hp..

Someone else might be better at answering this because my type-r isnt stock.. The only stock motors I have worked with are the d-series motors.. But im guessing maybe 250-300hp or so, But a person with a stock b-series might be able to answer this question better..

And you said you wanted a nice top end like a NA motor.. The top end on a boost motor is a whole lot more than that of a NA motor.. Im not talking about hardcore NA motors but youll see what I mean when your boosted..

That's the turbo I run on mine, check my site for the dyno graph, it's somewhat linear due to a bit of boost creep, but as you can see it does not run out of air at fuel cut. A big turbo like this is a bit laggy, but it keeps up with the ITRs airflow requirements on the top end. BTW a little lag doesn't hurt you too much on fwd, you need it just to get a little bit of traction..

I would agree with Jan above, a little lag is ok I run a t3/t67 turbo.

What do you guys think about mitsu td04 18T or 19T
The 18T is maxed at 350hp on a 2,3 liters 5cyl Volvo and 19T at 380hp.
They have intregated wg. And costs 700$ brand new here.

Same, but i don't have a stock motor. I actually like the lag, and there is nothing like how hard this turbo hits

I have a greddy TD05H 18G the car runs well I have the inline pro 3mm head gasket. I would go with the 3mm. I run .9 bar and 1.1 bar on race gas with 9k miles and the car does high 12's on street tires.....on a good tune and 10-12psi I would guess 280whp or so......the inline pro head gasket has been pushed very very far like 22psi and low 11 second time slips for over an entire year....talk to jinxproof on here he will help you out with any questions dealing with that head gasket and set up you should use

I have a fried here with a stock type R and he put down 309Whp @ 12psi. He's been driving the car for 4months now without any problems. We did a compression test yesterday and its was perfect. all the readings were +/- 3% of each other.
