What turbo for 140mph traps?
If I was looking to propel, say a 92-95 Coupe to 140mph in a 1/4 mile, how much power would I need and what turbo would best suit the application?
Motor is a 2.0 GSR, 9:1 compression, CTR Cams, Edelbrock VictorX. Full weight EG Coupe with power everything.
I'm guessing 700whp or more, but what turbo? T4/T67? GT4088? recommendations?
Just a discussion among friends, a good friend is looking to take his car to the next level and I am trying to help him out. Thanks in advance

i dont think its that heavy, then again i never weighed my car.
i would say my car is comparable to the OP, i went 142mph with my 35r full interior 95 coupe with a cage. the 35r had a lot more room to go but i didnt have the fuel for it. im expecting to trap 138-140mph with my 3076r i have now in the same chassis. i think the 35r could push it into the 147-148mph. if you want 140mph in a full weight coupe i would go with a 35r.
the gt4088 and t67 would push that coupe into the 150+mph.

I've had a customer with a 2400+ lb coupe running 136-137 (109 8th mile) with only !440 wheel HP. It wouldn't take much more to run 140 trap speeds, definitely doable on a 35R though!

It's still going to haul the mail with a 35R on it no problem, and it will NOT need 700 whp. Thats the point I was trying to make.</TD></TR></TABLE>lol

A 35R was actually the first thing that came into my mind when we started talking about doing everything, I think tapping 140 flat would be more than enough car for him, considering the car sees alot of street action also on it's current setup.
Thanks alot for the quick and helpful unput guys

Not sure at the moment, all the tracks closed when we put it on. It went 116 on 15 psi with a .50 trim t3/t04e and switching to the bigger turbo made a huge difference on his top end.

Dyno Dynamics using a T3/T67 or something, not 100% sure but it was a T3 exhaust housing.

no no no !, the GT 40 is way to large, you'll end up with a big lag...
gut the sh*t out of your interior, and add a GT35 to your setup,
anywhere between 580 and 620 Hp should get you at 140 over MPH to the line
with good tranny clutch slick combo.
small thought !
chow !

It was more like 480hp to hit 141 mph. I went 136 mph with 461hp. This was with a sc6131e.

my coupe was 2460 with a k swap in it and full interior. t3/to4e 57 trim, borgwarner 362, t3/67, t4/67, 35r. those are all turbos mentioned and that will get you in that 140mph trap speed. Just depends on how much you wanna spend.
