Are you referring to boost retard? or total timing under boost?

i want to know too....

maybe we can start an official ignition advance thread...
but we need to know compression ratio and engine displacement too, to compare the different setups..

i for myself run B16A1 with stock compression (10,2:1), stock internals, with 8psi of boost and 0,9 degree per psi linear retard.

Greetings
Malte.

The uberdata forums has some good info on this subject, right now im running .8 per lb, which is still a "safe" value.

Check out this post for a step-retard

i think thats not exactly what he means...

i think everyone knows allready that i.e. 1°/psi is save... what we want to know is how far other ppl go with their setups to get an idea of whats good and whats not good...

1 degree per pound is way too conservative.

Step-retarding
Retard it less for earlier psi and then more when you reach your peak psi.

I run 0,6 per lbs of boost, up to 18,4psi. I tuned it on the dyno. I started from ,75 degrees.

i want to know ok

Fuel mangement lbs per boost and Timing on distributor. thanks

uberdata 1 lb per boost timing 16

the reason is I am wondering how much timing will effect power, eg. compare .5 timing to .75 per lb.

Same here, no problems so far. Ran a 13 flat with MAD wheel hop! and a shitty 0-60 time ( 2.5 secs ) with 4.5psi of boost -

Stock GSR motor, with t3to4e, large front mount...etc etc...

A quick search would tell you most b18b1s at ~250whp(normally 10-11psi) like about 20-22* and GSRs like ~19-20* at about 9-10psi aka about 275-300whp

Its 0.7 retard per pound for 10:0:1 compression 0.6 RPP for 9:0:1 timming should be set by compression and octane value thats a good base value for 91 octane.
