I was thinking of using the JG TB as well but wanted to get other ideas from people. I have a DRAG kit and the charge pipe is 2 1/4" I believe. Any other good ideas or experiences?

get holley 70mm is the way to go.

I was using an Erick's Racing TB at 68mm on my ITR IM but I had to portmatch the IM to fit it. I think it would be useless to have a TB with a larger diameter than the charge pipe. If not, please give me your reasons. I believe the opening on the JG IM is 66mm and I'd rather not portmatch this one.

thats the same thing i had to do was portmatch. It pain in the *** but its well worth the gain on high hp motors. On my car i need it but for street car eriks tb is the **** too . I would stick with that if i was you.

Hard to tell from the pic but the coupling hose barely fits over the Erick's TB. I sold the 68mm but I am thinking of getting a 66mm. Back to my question abot the TB opening being much larger than the charge pipe diameter. Wouldn't the forced air lose some velocity going to a larger TB or my thinking is the larger TB would really be unnecessary. Please expound on this if you can.

last year tested the same theory out. We had factory JG manifold on the dyno with JG tb bored out 65mm then we upped it to a 70mm holley the holley actually gained hp at the same boost level. without doing anything to the car. Same time frame,same temp out side etc. gained 10hp

O.k. but what diameter was the charge pipe? Was it large like the 70mm or smaller like my DRAG piping? I believe this would be an important factor.

on on the test car it was 2.5 inc intercooler piping throughout. We have now upped to 3inch on the car from the intercooler and it also dramatticaly increase flow up top we can just feel the increase.
