What kind of street tires are the 400hp+ guys using and what are your take on them?

I've got 16x7 wheels which unfortunately limits my options compared to 15's.

I'm running 205/50-16 Dunlop star specs and make 500whp.

Welllll technically if we are talking R-Compound and not street tires I would say Nitto NT01s over R888

225/45/16 or 225/50/16 r888's. Take it from someone who has real world experience with this tire, it works. lol

225/45/16 R888s. Not a huge looking tire, putting down 500+ in 3rd, 600+ in 4th.

Going to 235/50/15 this year.

So you want to hook 500hp, on a low profile 205 tire for a 16" wheel, and be slammed... Your options are raise the car and put a decent tire on or be slow.

Nope. My brother's car runs the M&H 235/60-15 and all we had to do is raise the car.

at 400 even a shitty 205 et street kinda hooks 2rd and dead 3rd.

On my neogens I could roll into 1st on 7lbs and hook fine in the summer (280whp). So they are cheap alternative to R888's to those with less then 400whp

We had the neo gens on our 600rwhp z06. They didn't hook for **** and this was on a 14" wheel

R888s are the only way to go IMO. Either that or go all out and get Hoosier R6 full slicks.

Michelin pilot sport cups are also a decent tire but they cost a fortune

Also with any of these sticky tires you should understand that you'll only get about 3,000 miles on a set

Ive been looking at tires also. What about the azenis 615k's? Decent price and in a 205/40zr16 so i keep my tires properly sized. There is also the bf gforce kdw but it looks like its being discontinued....also been reading up on some federal 595 rs-r tires.....for me the a6's are a bit to pricey to run as a street tir that are just going to get trashed...

All of them i listed are sub $150 each
But honesty all of the above are better than these shitty toyo proxies im on

615k is a good tire but my experience with it is solely based around FormulaDrift, I've never really seen anyone try to hook on purpose with that tire lol
