Default WHAT Starter is this guys!! I know you guys will know :) Help me out here.

Alright, I got a Type-R motor in my Civic Si. I have a GSR hydro Tranny in it. I towed the car to my friends shop today so I could screw around with it and wanted to install my starter, but the darn thing wouldn't fit. I got the tranny from a friend of mine and he told me that this was the starter for it. I figured that all B-series starters were the same. So here are some pics, and as you can see the starter hits the motor mount and I can't bolt it on flush with the tranny. What starter is this? or do I have the wrong tranny mount!

Thanks guys!!

I havent experienced any fitments issues with any of the b-series starters. The starters I believe are identical since the casing of the tranmission between the si, gsr and Ls are virtually idential.

That is what I thought, but this is obviously not fittin for some reason. I figured it I would have a little more room than that. You think this might be a single cam starter eh? Anyone?

all B series are the same, if you're having clearance problems, then its not a B series. Accord/Prelude starters look very similar to B series, u might want to check those out.

Ummm, correct me if I'm wrong, but that thing looks like an Accord one to me. Check out this link about the starter for an Accord. The top part that has that little spout and nut on top looks just like the pic. BTW, you can change the car selection and find something that looks close to it, but that thing looks just like the diagram to me.

The starter is from a early style b 16 cable trans the new trans uses a shorter starter to clear the mount. You need a new civic si starter hope this helps
