what size turbo for my 2.0 type r street motor
i need help findin what turbo should i get for my motor. i have a 99 type r block with darton sleeves,84mm arias pistons at 9.8.1 with a fully port and polished head and aem stand alone. this is a daily driven car and i want to make 350 to 400 hp on pump gas. the most ill ever get to is 450 TOPS. My prob is i wanna make it on low boost cause i dont wanna have to run 18 plus pounds to get there. how can i get 350 to 400 hp with low boost like say 12- 15 psi on the strret with out a ton of lag. i know its a lot sorry but im confused. i see so much different stuff like a gsr with 372 hp on 9 psi with a sc61,then i see colin from rpm nyc makes 450 on 14psi with a 62-1 so where do i fit in with my set up . are these just high horsepower motors with a ton of lag? im sorry for ramblin on but any help would be greatly appreciated thanks a lot guys. please help me . also i would prefer a t3 turbine cause it will fit my manifold. is it possible to make 350 plus on low boost with little lag or am i dreamin. thanks soooo much for any help

Yeah I'm putting a my SC61 on my new block in a couple of weeks. With a 2.0L lag shouldn't be that bad I would go with that.

60-1 and a log style manifold you will have spoolup at 4500 and you will be fully spooled up at 5500
with a tubular style manifold like the full race you will be fully spooled up by 4600-4800 area..

Talk to art....
The PTE SC61 w/t3 extaust housing, stage 5 exhaust wheel, and either the t04E or S compressor housing... You won't be dissatistfied with it...

sleeving a block for 450hp seems like a waste.
btw, get advice from Ppl that have DONE IT and USED these turbos on their cars.

I also reccomend the gt35e from precision. The GT turbine wheel is said to spool a bit faster and free up some power. You wont be dissapointed with the sc61 or the gt35e. Arturbo is the man to speak to. He is very helpful! CHRIS

boost is not hard on motor. power is hard on motors, more or less.... anyway, i vote sc61 either way. $667 from tony @ import-palace.com, hes a good guy.
