Its not 1/16 have you looked at the thread for the jet?

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS IN THE MANUAL

We've enclosed a tap should you need to mount the nozzle in a metal duct. Just drill a 1/4 (.250)-inch hole where you want to mount the nozzle, then tap the hole and install the nozzle

NO TAP FITTING MENTIONED

i'm pretty sure it's 1/8 npt, but if you're not 100%, just bring the nozzle to work and use a thread guage to check it.

How could it possibly be a 1/8 tap? You have to drill a 1/4 inch hole so obviously its bigger than that right? Or am I not getting how its installed right?

But if you drill a 1/4 inch hole, you cant tap it with something 50% of the size

RTFM

http://www.zex.com/Technical/

If it's wet, it'll be 1/8. If it's dry, it's 1/16. It says right there, so don't tell me that you checked their website.

It would help if you told us if it was wet or dry in the first place.

If you look in the 'parts list', there is only one tap mentioned. It says it's size right there.

If you can't find it, let me know and I'll circle it and post a pic up.

Thats not my point man. If you drill a 1/4 inch hole which is a LOT BIGGER than a 1/16 tap, how could you possibly tap it? It would drop right through

Also 1/16 is NOTHING, I dunno if you have the kit or not but its bigger than 1/16

Its a dry kit BTW

Are you not listenning dude? I quoted the exact line from the Instruction sheet right infront of me, its RED if you cant see it. Thats the exact phrasing when they show how to tap the intake

HOW CAN YOU TAP SOMETHING WITH THE HOLE 4X BIGGER THAN THE TAP

YOU CANT!

Dude, I'm just trying to help out. Chill...

Anyways, I had no problems getting my kit installed, I think you are thinking about this way to hard. Just go and do it.

Um how can I do it if I cant install the nitrous jet.

Just think of the logic of the tap though, makes no sence. Knowone has the tap infront of them?

The designation of tap size has nothing to do with the pre-tapped hole size. Below is the correct drill sizes to use:

1. ZEX dry nitrous system nozzle thread size = 1/16-27 NPT = .246 diam. drill (.250 is fine too)

2. ZEX wet nitrous system nozzle thread size = 1/8-27 NPT = .339 diam. drill

That is the honest truth........end of thread...........

I have an NX tap in front of me. Its 1/16th" NPT. It is not however 1/16" in diameter. 1/16th NPT male threads are just over 1/4" in diameter.

Yeah... ' 1/16"NPT ' uses an arbitrary naming convention like AN, JIC, BPST or any other. Their measured size doesn't match the name inch size.
