Default What should be my vacum reading

Hey guys i searched and couldnt get a straight answer am running 00-01 ITR cams on my b16 build motor and wanted to know what should be my vacum in/Hg be on my Defi boost gauge? right now its reading 15 and still having some flactuations! all vacum hoses are new since this is a fresh swap too and used a new OEM TB gasket and used a minor hondabond on both TB and intake plate! and yea the intake arm has two holes that i plugged already

tommorow i will try to get all the bubble out of my coolant system hoping that will reduce the flactuation at idle!

let me know what you guys think

EDIT: more details about the engine
1- 9.0:1 CR pistons
2- new OEM bearings
3- new OEM water and oil pump
4- 3 angled valve job
5- Darton sleeves
6- 00-01 ITR cams with stock B series sprockets all set to stock settings
7- Supertech valve train etc

i know it should be 19-20 inHg, but i heard with bigger cams the vacum reading is different and wanted to know what should be the vacum using the 00-01 ITR cam?

The vacuum will only be lower for vtec cams with really big primaries like some of the new skunk pro stuff and the toda B/C's. ITR cams will pull the same vacuum as a set of gsr cams.

i see 15-16 inHg on my Defi mechanical boost gauge! does that sound normal? i always read 19-20 is the normal and read somewhere that some big cams read 10-15 so i thought i was fine!

edit: i sprayed carb spray all over and i had a minor leak at my TB so i went ahead and replaced it and checked other hoses and stuff and my vacum reads 16 instead of 15 now, but i dont see my rpm bouncing (just flactuating a bit...very noticable when looking at my oil pressure which flactuated more than the rpm) and my engine kinda struggle when the fan goes on....am using crome should i re-adjust the battery offset? i dont know whats the problem here just giving out hints!

setup is:
*b16 head ported and polished, 00-01 ITR cams, full valvetrain upgrade, valve adjustment done perfectoly at 0.18mm exhaust and 0.16intake (rockers do tick kinda loud, but not that loud you think something is wrong)
*b16/Type R Victor X
*stock TB
*Victor X TB gasket ( i used OEM but then thats the one that leaked!)
*Hondata thermal intake gasket
*stock Si injectors
* OBD1 P75 converted to a chipped P72 by Xenocron

things done:
1- let the engine get to its working temp until fan went on
2- set AFR at idle to 14.5-14.7 afr from the main multiplier
3- set my low timing map to 16 deg (since it was 16.5), jumped the service connector and set my dist
sprayed loads of Carb cleaner and by the way i dont have any ANY cels

let me know guys how i can fix this!

yea i did bleed my coolant system since my rpm was boucing but now it flactuated in terms of very very small range of bouncing!

idle speed was set 750 since thats where i can set my dist
cam phasing? where can i see that on crome Pro v1.2?
regarding the compression test which i will do after the break in procedure.....am about to tune it myself on the street got all the gadgets to do it, but i dont want to compression test a fresh built engine now until the break in procedure is done (hence to see the real numbers after the pistons seals sit properly) or should i compression test it anyway?

are your valves adjusted? We just put a ls motor in a buddy's teg that had some way out of whack valve lash and pulled very bad vacuum. After fixing the valve adjustment it read around 20.

0.16mm intake (thats 0.0063")
0.18mm exhaust (thats 0.00709")

most poeple told me to go for 0.00787" for exhaust

sorry i always use metric and do u think this is the problem?

am thinking of re-doing the valve adjusment...does these numbers sound right?

intake: 0.0063"
exhaust: 0.00787"

where i live we use metric units so am gonna do it as in 0.16mm intake and 0.20mm exhaust....does this sound cool?

THis sounds about right. I just did some cams crower stage 3 and we adjusted the valves too tight and the vacuum was pretty low, after the adjustment the vacuum was way up but still not like stock. COnsidering these were pretty aggressive all is good. Compression is consistent. Like stated earlier valve adjustment should solve the issue unless u have a leak or an internal prob. Good luck.

ps; I would do the compression test first just to make sure all is good. I do a com test almost every week. I am a little nutty

lol, I do one when i get home from the track

My stock block pulls 21-22 in/HG.

I'd definently suggest a compression and leakdown test.
