I have a fuel pressure gauge in my car. At idle it should be about 38 psi and just before you boost it should be 45psi

doesn't really matter what pressure you have it at. the range would be 35-65psi or thereabouts. what matters is what you are using to control your injectors ie, a standalone computer vs a vafc or inline pump/fmu as your delivery method.
my personal choice is to use a standalone, larger injectors and keep the fuel pressures near stock 40-50psi.
